Performing and directing since a teenager, Marc attended university as a drama major with emphasis on performing and directing. Fred Kelly, a choreographer, and dancer, and Gene Kelly’s brother who taught Gene how to dance. It was Fred who mentored Marc early. When Marc began his professional career, he quickly discovered the untold world of a “Stand-in,” working directly with top directors and cinematographers. Marc’s directing training put him in high demand. He worked with cinematographers William Fraker, Donald E. Thorin, Carloe De Palma, Zhao Fei and Dejan Georgevich… with directors Woody Allen, Sidney Lumet, Andrew Bergman, Alan Rudolph, and Herbert Ross … and with actors Matthew Broderick, Dustin Hoffman, Sean Connery, and Sean Penn. Marc began screenwriting after being encouraged by Matthew Broderick and Dustine Hoffman.
He has been serving on the NY Board of SAG-AFTRA over 16 years and is the Shepherd Emeritus of The Lambs, America’s oldest professional theatrical organization after serving 10 years as its president. For over 30 years he has worked on directing, producing, or performing at events for The Lambs, which included directing the first staging of the original play, Hot Properties, which has become our Comeback in Vienna.
